Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick Review


This Stila lipstick actually came in a Birchbox order as a random free sample. I was more happy to get this than I have any other sample before. I have been absolutely dying to try a liquid to matte lip color but I've been putting it off until after Christmas. 

I received the shade Bella which is sort of a bright Barbie pink. It looks exactly the same on your lips as it does in the tube. At first I was really confused trying to apply this product it's very thick and a little difficult to manage but once you figure it out, which isn't hard, it was super easy to apply. It only take a light hand and small strokes to get perfect coverage with this Stila lipstick. It initially has a smell that's sort of a cross between vanilla and chemicals but as soon as it dries the smell is gone.
It takes some practice to get it perfectly on your lips and as long as you wipe off any mistakes or excess before it dries it removes extremely easily with no staining. However once this stuff dries it absolutely does not move. I wore this all day with only minor touch ups and did not need to actually reapply it at all. It even lasted through lunch, dinner, and multiple bottles of water. The only downside is it does begin to feel a little drying after a bit.

I'm not sure where or when I'll wear this particular color but I do know I am definitely going to be buying a few more tubes of this in other shades. Five stars!

    I got this shade in Early Fall/Late Summer Birchbox but it was too drying on my dry lips! BUT I can use it on top of lipstick or balm!

Why I Canceled Birchbox

In other news I have recently decided to cancel my Birchbox subscription after only 5 months. The whole reason I joined Birchbox in the first place was to try makeup. At first I got at least one if not a few makeup items each box with some skin and hair care products mixed in. I believe this was mostly to get me to stay because by the end of the 5 months I was no longer receiving any makeup items. The items I was receiving were not relevant to me. The profile customization seems to actually not play any part in what you receive after all. They ask you to specify your hair color (brown) and type (oily) and ask the same for your skin type (combination, acne). I, however, on multiple occasions received products for aging skin or dry skin most of which were unusable on my part and a few of the ones I did try ended up breaking me out. Update and Big News!

Hello everyone! You may have noticed a sudden absence from this blog on my part recently. This is because I have huge news! We're having a baby! That's right I'm expecting and having just entered my second trimester I thought it was a good time to finally update everyone on my progress. We told all of the important people right away and recently made a public announcement after my 12 week checkup. I've been getting a lot of questions so I thought I'd go over a few of them, answer the ones I'm comfortable with, and reflect on my first trimester. We found out I was pregnant on January 7th with two at home pregnancy tests. We then confirmed the pregnancy with an ultrasound at the doctors later in the week.
