Cynthia Rowley Beauty Mini Creamy Lip Stain Trio Review

I ordered the Cynthia Rowley Beauty Mini Trio from Birchbox as an add on to try. I was very curious to find out exactly what a creamy lip stain would be like. The small tubes are the perfect size for me since I am a lip product hoarder and never can seem to finish a tube of anything. I was initially very impressed with the colors in package.

Dahlia

The first color is in the shade Dahlia. In package it is a very vibrant eggplant purple and I was very excited to see that translated on my lips however I was extremely underwhelmed after application.The color was streaky and patchy and way more red than I expected. It was slightly improved with a 2nd coat but that left a very thick sticky feeling to the lips.

Heartthrob 

The second color is in the shade Heartthrob and is a very fiery orange red. On the lips it maintains it's orange-red color but is see through like a gloss. I liked this one much better but the color was still not as vibrant as I would have liked.This one doesn't go on streaky like Dahlia but does still feel more sticky like a gloss.

Sugar 

The third and final color is in the shade Sugar it's a pale baby pink color that ends up actually being the perfect nude shade for my lips. Again this one isn't streaky but does feel like a gloss. I think this shade will be the most used of the trio for me because it is such a nice nude shade. It's the perfect product to toss in my bag for busy days.

Why I Canceled Birchbox

In other news I have recently decided to cancel my Birchbox subscription after only 5 months. The whole reason I joined Birchbox in the first place was to try makeup. At first I got at least one if not a few makeup items each box with some skin and hair care products mixed in. I believe this was mostly to get me to stay because by the end of the 5 months I was no longer receiving any makeup items. The items I was receiving were not relevant to me. The profile customization seems to actually not play any part in what you receive after all. They ask you to specify your hair color (brown) and type (oily) and ask the same for your skin type (combination, acne). I, however, on multiple occasions received products for aging skin or dry skin most of which were unusable on my part and a few of the ones I did try ended up breaking me out. Update and Big News!

Hello everyone! You may have noticed a sudden absence from this blog on my part recently. This is because I have huge news! We're having a baby! That's right I'm expecting and having just entered my second trimester I thought it was a good time to finally update everyone on my progress. We told all of the important people right away and recently made a public announcement after my 12 week checkup. I've been getting a lot of questions so I thought I'd go over a few of them, answer the ones I'm comfortable with, and reflect on my first trimester. We found out I was pregnant on January 7th with two at home pregnancy tests. We then confirmed the pregnancy with an ultrasound at the doctors later in the week.
